Global Health Service Corps
Organization: Global Health Service Corps (GHSC) represents a unique partnership between GHSC and the U.S. Peace Corps
Description: GHSC's mission is to promote and support new generations of US health professionals to serve as global health educators and work within countries facing critical human health care resource shortages. Their greater goal is, in collaboration with their partners, to create sustainable solutions to strengthen health systems.
Eligibility:  Medical volunteers will include U.S. board eligible or board certified doctors in core specialties and nursing volunteers who have completed a BNS/MPH, MSN, NP, DRN, or PHD and have a minimum number of three  years of both clinical and teaching experience.  Core specialties for doctors are expected to include Internal Medicine, Pediatrics (and Medicine/Pediatrics), Family Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, General Surgery, or Psychiatry
Application Deadline / Start Date:  TBD.  2012-'13 will be the inaugural year for GHSC.
